Best Mom Ideas-Autumn

About me | Autumn

I began this blog in 2016 to help share some tips and tricks with fellow moms that I have learned on my fun and messy motherhood journey.

I call this blog Best Mom Ideas not because I have the best ideas, but because I want to empower moms (dads, guardians, and grandparents) with ideas to enrich their lives and the lives of their children! My goal is to share my triumphs (and tragedies) when it comes to raising and teaching my children, to tell you what works for me (and what doesn’t), and share a few laughs along the way. Above all, I want to create a space where moms (and dads and grandparents) can feel understood and never judged.

A little about me...

I have been (most days) happily married to my wonderful husband for 12 years.  We have two silly boys and an independent daughter!

Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed of becoming a teacher, so in college I studied to become a teacher and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I have taught in the classroom and as an online teacher. Both experiences allowed me to teach students of varying ages in multiple states, so I have been certified to teach in California, Colorado, Arizona, and Georgia.

However, one of my greatest joys (and challenges) is being a mom! After my first son was born, I wanted to be involved in helping him learn and grow, so I began to develop color lessons to help engage his developing mind. I also wanted to help other moms dealing with hectic schedules and continuous time restraints. As a result, these activities evolved into my first book, Toddler Lesson Plans: Learning Colors. My children and I have continued to enjoy the daily activities, which has turned into:

Motherhood has many joys and challenges, and sometimes that can lead to feeling burned out. This happened to me. So to combat that feeling, I began to practice gratitude through journaling. I found this very beneficial to my relationship with my husband and children—I was happier, more patient, less stressed, calmer, more optimistic, and much happier. I created The Full Life Gratitude Journal for Moms so other moms could have a full life that is more grateful, mindful, and joyful.

When I’m not finding lost shoes, fixing dinner, or folding clothes I like to play outside with my family, plan our dream vacation, or get lost in a good book.

I hope you find that this blog saves you time so you can focus on being your Best Mom!
