About me | Autumn
Hi, I’m Autumn — a mom of 3, former educator, activity creator, and the heart behind Best Mom Ideas.
I created Best Mom Ideas in 2016 after realizing something so many moms feel: motherhood is beautiful… but it can also feel exhausting, overwhelming, messy, loud, and nonstop.
I didn’t start this site because I have all the answers or because I’m the “perfect mom.” I started it because I wanted to create a place where moms could find simple ideas that actually make life feel easier. At Best Mom Ideas, you’ll find:
low-prep activities
screen-free learning ideas
simple parenting encouragement
educational printables
realistic motherhood tips
and reminders that you are doing better than you think
My goal has always been to help parents create meaningful moments with their children — without needing expensive supplies, complicated crafts, or hours of prep.
Because honestly? Most days we’re just trying to:
keep up with laundry
find missing shoes
remember if we actually ate breakfast
and make it to bedtime with everyone still alive and mostly happy :)
A little more about me…
I have been happily married to my husband, Seth, for 16 years, and together we’re raising two silly boys that are turning into young men and one fiercely independent daughter.
Ever since I was little, I dreamed of becoming a teacher. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and have taught both in classrooms and online. I’ve been certified to teach in California, Colorado, Arizona, and Georgia, and I’ve had the opportunity to work with children of many ages and learning styles.
But one of my greatest joys — and greatest learning experiences — has been becoming a mom.
After my first son was born, I began creating simple hands-on learning activities to help engage his growing mind. I also wanted activities that fit real life: simple, affordable, low-prep ideas that busy moms could actually use. Those activities eventually became my first books… and over time grew into the resources now used by families all over the world.
What started as a few activities at my kitchen table slowly turned into:
preschool learning resources
screen-free activity guides
kindergarten prep tools
math workbooks
and encouragement for overwhelmed moms who simply want to do their best
One thing motherhood has taught me is this: you do not need to do everything perfectly to create a beautiful childhood. Some of the moments our children remember most are the simple ones:
coloring together
laughing during a family dinner
reading one more book before bed
or sitting side-by-side at the kitchen table
Those small moments matter.
When I’m not creating activities, you can usually find me:
fixing dinner
planning our dream family vacation
folding laundry
or reading a good book
I’m so grateful you’re here, and I hope Best Mom Ideas helps make your motherhood journey feel just a little lighter, calmer, and more joyful.
